Does the Strat have a six-point tremelo or the two-point? And, does the fingerboard have 22 or 21 frets?

From the photo, the frets appear to be medium-jumbo, but I did not count them. The rest of the details will logically wait for the specs coming next week I expect. Guitar has a nice vintage look.

Gee, I didn't see anything wrong with the American Series Strats and Teles. I have 4 of them! I'm curious as to how this translates into feel, tone, mojo and price. :?

Roger that!! The company should know better. Give the guitar to the players. THEY'LL tell ya' IF it's a keeper. Thanks to the reader for the link, but all that industry public relations poodah was so 'gag me with a spoon.

As soon as the stores start receiving stock, we'll have the answer right here.

I've seen the ads of the New American Standards.

The only things I can see that're different are the bridge saddles.
They are going back to the "vintage" style (folded steel with "FENDER" stamps) saddles.

To me it sounds like an improvement. The crappy saddles on the previous american standard sucked if you ask me. I think it looks like there finally improving it. Hopefully they take the body thickness of finish down a notch too.

From your comments, you have no memory when THOSE saddles were introduced. Man...fomr their press, you'd have thought they re-invented the wheel when those went on. I never liked the look or the rest of it from the get-go, and I'll reserve judgement until we get to play them.

I talked to a salesman to ask why i did'nt get my 2007 AM Standard and he said to me that all of 2007 models have been discontinued.. so im gonna get a 2008 I guess

Well here what he told me : 2008 American Standard will have a new improved bridge, a thin coat of painting, varnish on the head stock and fretboard but not on the back of the neck ( ... that really weird ) and the colors ?? well they are all gonna be the same as 2007 maybe one or two different... that really sux

allright that's it !

Hey, I said it on another thread, and I'll say it on this one too. I have some inside info as to what some of the updates are going to be, but, if Brad will let me, I don't think that I should tell... 8)

What the heck man, I'll tell.

OK. So, I know that the pickups are going to be switched from Alnico 3s to Alnico 5s... and, that's pretty much all I know, except for what everyone else has posted...
