I just ordered the head/cab version of this amp yesterday. Looking forward to cranking it up upon arrival! Have you had any issues with yours? I've read some are dying when using the 1/4 watt setting - blown fuse and/or diode issue.

Had mine for a year now - no trouble at all. And half the time its on the 1/4 watt setting.

It depends on the situation but the '66 Deluxe Reverb or the '66 Pro Reverb....the '66DR sounds the best usually.

Marshall AVT150! Preferably run through a 4x12 Marshall cab for gigs, just the amp (at only 75 watts through the internal) for at home practice.

How does that Princeton Reverb sound?

It sounds like frying bacon smells.

:mrgreen:

It's a '65 (tube chart stamp "OK") with fresh caps, all NOS tubes, original black-lacquered footswitch, and a reconed alnico CTS 10 from a '67 Super Reverb. The sole mods are a 3-conductor power cord and an invisible standby switch on the rear panel. Otherwise, it's as unmolested as the day it shipped from Fullerton -- a virtual cherry.

I can relate,I want one,I have a '62 Brown Princeton with a '66 Jensen speaker,the speaker is going to be pulled and replaced with a Weber,I'm anxious to see what it sounds like then....everything else is the way Leo and crew built it.

@JohnZ6,
John,
My source book for the pre-war Gibson brands shows that the KEA was only made from 1938 to 1941. About 1800 made IIRC. The KEA-R was only made in 1940. I believe the name is KEA-R because the grill is red painted metal, versus the white painted metal of the KEA. I'm trying to get one of these repaired right now in fact. Having trouble with it not coming on. If anyone knows of any repair techs with experience on these amps, please let me know.

Rick

Absolute fave is my Cox amp. It's a '57 tweed deluxe clone with an Eminence Redcoat Redfang in it.

Some guys love Fender....I love...ummmm...I love my amp!
