In my eyes a Stratocaster isn't a Stratocaster if it has a humbucker.

what kind of music do you want to play?
What sound are you looking for?

Go and play both, see what sounds best to your ears. I could say go for SSS as its really versatile and another member here could tell you to go for a HSS as you have extra crunch in and depth in the bridge pickup.

Its all about what you want.

The HSS can be more versatile ,but it depends on the music you play.If you dont need it ,it can be quite limiting.I prefer the middle/bridge for alot of my stuff and the HSS doesnt get you there at all.Just a matter of personal preference.

I prefer the s-s-s configuration, but admit to having one Strat with a Duncan JB SH4 'bucker in the bridge position that sounds purty good.

For me SSS on a Strat. I am not keen on the looks of a Strat fitted with a humbucker in the bridge, it just doesn't look 'right'!

I tend to prefer the S-S-S setup also.

I sense some buyer's remorse with a need to justify your decision. You should have asked this quesion before making your purchase.

its already been said. it all depends on what you play. i personally like the hss but that is because i play a wide range of music including deathmetal and a single coil just doesnt cut it. but many companies make humbuckers that fit into a single coil slot

Hello!

For me Its got to be SSS. I have a Strat with the S-1 switch which gives those great super charged series combo's that are nice to have for the heavier stuff!
