You know that would be interesting. I always wondered about those. I wonder where you can get a Tele Plus version1 dually mounting ring from other than ebay?

Howdy!

Has anyone tried a Blue and a Silver wired as a dually?

What is different between one of them and let's say a standard humbucker bridge for a Tele? I could check some of my suppliers if I knew what I was looking for.

Hey Andy, I have made several combos of Duallys and used them almost always in the bridge. Nice thing is, using an on/on/on mini-switch you get three distinct voices. The Silver and then Blue plus the two in series which is fatter. I like the Red/Gold Dually because you can get that old vintage Strat bridge sound or a more biting Tele sound or a humbucker tone.

Thanks Mr X,

I'm thinking about using a blue/silver dually with the on/on/on mini-switch in the neck. I love the blue in the neck and like the silver too so I was thinking this would be a good way to have it all!

What are your thoughts

Andy

Just an observation,This thread is 6 pages long. For a topic about a single line of pickups, I havent seen a thread this long. Not even with the new N3 series. That speaks volumes about Lace Sensors doesnt it? :)

Also speaks volumes for having 'the main man' on board for this. Although Xhefri's awesome collection and website have been know to me for years now. See that guitar up there. Mine was a natural finish. Awesome rock 'n roll instrument but I was never comfortable playing Tele's. It swapped out for black Artist Series Clapton. Do miss it though. I've told Jeff that a hardtail Clapton Strat wired like that would be awesome, but it would have to be routed HHS, putting the preamp in the center. This way you dont have to rout the lower bout, and could rout for the battery in the back the way Ceri did for his project guitar.

I just hope that people in the know at Fender are going to realise how awesome the old plus line are, and also Lace Sensors to hopefully put them on a table for maybe consideration on putting them on a model oneday soon... Look at the attention these guitars get now :)

Hi, Some of you have asked to see one of my Strat Plus' being played. Well....We did a few spoof on You Tube playing my Strat Plus with Ultra wiring through a Fender Bassman head. Just a keyboard player and guitar, with a drum machine in the background...It is a joke to be fun.

The first a David Gilmore Spoof of Another brick in the Wall

The other Spoof on Santana's Victory is Won.

I just finished wiring two Strat Plus pickguards with humbuckers in the neck and Chrome Domes all the rest of the way down. These are wired with 500k pots for the humbucker and a TBX for the middle and bridge pickups. I used a mini-switch to split the humbucker and the Ultra super-switching with the on/on/on switch for the Chrome Dome Dually. The one on the left has a DiMarzio DP190 Air Classic. The one on the right is using a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover signature pickup. I can't wait to get these mounted up. Maybe I should take some good picks and show the two guitars as they come together? One is Black and the other is Pewter....

Ok, when I start my process of conversion I will start a new threat.... I already have these wired, so that part does not have picts but I will take a few closeups of the back of these as the wiring is really clean and then do the step by step process from there to the final product!

Do all Strats with Lace sensors also have the TBX tone control?
