I would love to see Fender reissue the Strat Plus. Their 80s-90s guitars were quite good, heck, Gibstone is touting that era now (I remember thinking how awful 80s Gibbies were back then). After going through an anti-Lace Sensor period recently, but am back among the faithful now.

Let's hope someone heeds the call.

Fender will start using Laces eventually again for a re-issue. I mean, the demand for the Strat Plus is going to reach a point where they will be re-issued whether it be in 10-15yrs time. Look at the Tele Plus version 1, they are so rare they are almost un-obtainable, and people are expecting top dollar for them.

In the '90s I never thought in a million years a 70's AVRI would appear, and look what happened.

I dont think that CS will be doing them for a very long time. The Plus just arent at that stage where an 'original' would fetch a CS re-issue or a MB price.
I guess that means we will be seeing more pre/post CBS relics for quite sometime yet. I'd like to see fender do some wild 80's & 90's re-issues, and make 'em on production line instead of CS only.

That I guess is the difference with Fender Japan, they are more adventurous with the offerings, and the instruments are more coveted, and models are more widely re-issued. They still use Lace pick-ups in the '54 re-issue with pre-amp, obviously influenced by Clapton.

MIM Deluxe models are fantastic, but they are too long in the tooth and need a revamp.

True that, Blertles. +++1 on the Tele Plus also. I really liked those instruments, and I've never been able to get it together on a Tele (even though a lot of my favorite players were Tele-Cats).

Should we start an online petition to bring the Plus line back? Shoot, I wish I had the scratch to have custom Plus for a Jazzmaster and Jaguar as well as the Strat and Tele.

I was told they dropped the line due to the Plus (especially the Ultra model) cutting into the Custom Shop market; then the expiring of the exclusive Lace Sensor contract, and the introduction of the new Deluxe Strat with the new Fender noiseless. I doubt Fender will go for the idea...a petition would be interesting.

If the Plus series will be re-issued, basses must be included as well.

Especially those weirdo Boner models with the long cutaways (including BOTH the Precision and the Jazz, IMO!), which were the coolest Fender basses ever made!

Hey blertles, Man I almost bought one of these off ePay a while back. It went a little higher than I wanted to go. Support to have a nice V shaped neck and I like the batter access in the back. Would be interested to compare the quality on these to the EC Strat.... I know my 89 EC Strat is one of the sweetest playing guitars I have.

ohhh JasonSD, nice one with the bound top! They made a few of these with the tremolo systems too and a roller nut. I would love to get one of those. Meanwhile I guess I will keep fixing up the Japanese version!

THANKS FOR SHARING THE LINK!!!

Yeah, I posted the pics of those 2 with roller nuts, locking tuners, duallys in the bridge, and the tremolo in the telecaster forum, and I really liked those, but now looking at this, I think I like the 3 single coil config a little better. This would be my pick if I was getting a tele, but with a rollernut, just for looks lol, not really needed with no trem, but looks cool.

I assume the locking tuners were added on this one, since it has a string tree on it. I like the brushed metal schaller locking tuners better then the chrome.

I have seen these with both Shallers and Standard Fender Tuners. Sweet looking guitars. The Neck pickup is usually a blue on some of these but I wonder on this one if it is a Standard Lace Tele neck pickup? The middle is a Hot Gold Chrome Dome (funny name) and the bridge could be Gold, Blue or Red.

What all guitars do you have right now, JasonSD? You still have a Plus and ? And what amps????

I have a 1987 MIJ Squier Strat
a 1988 Pewter Strat Plus
a 1992 Ebony Frost Strat Plus Deluxe
a 1993 CAR Strat Plus
a 2005 Sunburst American Standard
a 1995 Daphne Blue Tex-Mex Strat (I think)
and the 2002 MIM Strat I painted Yellow

And yesterday I bought a 2003 MIM Strat for $150, but I bought that to resell, so I don't really count that.

I'm kind of in between amps. I just traded my Twin Reverb for a 2004 Butterscotch Blonde strat, but sold that.

I have a Fender Deluxe 112 Plus I bought for $20, I had to resolder the jacks but works good now, and is a pretty good little amp, pretty loud though, think it's 94 watts from what I read.

and a 10 watt (I think) tube amp that's a cheapy, that I got yesterday also.

I would like to get either a Peavey Classic 30, or build a Fender Deluxe tweed amp from one of this kits you can buy online.

I just play at home, so don't need much. If I got the Peavey Classic 30 I would probably get one of those volume boxes you can get on ebay for it.

That's the one you sent me the pick guard for. The guy who sold it to me gave me the original reciept with it and GC had it listed as Ebony Frost.

This pic isn't that good. I'm usually in a hurry when I take pics, so don't spend a lot of time setting up shots.

Here's another (bad) pic of my American Strats. Kind of fits the topic too, you have 8 gold sensors, 3 red, 1 blue, and 1 silver,
