We're just about to sell it. No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!!! :( :( :(

Lord, it eats petrol. But the other day I took it for a run across Dartmoor to take some nice scenic photos of it in the sun for the sale, and it was just skipping along in a frisky mood that said; "You're not seriously going to lose me are you?" Had me crying in my beer...

Have you ever sold a car on the internet? We're trying to decide whether to start with AutoTrader or Ebay. Advice gladly received...

Anyhow. Now we're going to become a two Prius family. Cripes, how middle-aged boring can you get? I understand if you don't want to know me anymore... :?

Cheers - C

Ummm.......G'day Andy. I feel like I'm butting in on a private conversation here but can you tell tell me on which page of this thread I may view this Strat. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to scroll through 43 pages. I started to read the whole thread and will continue to do so over the next week or two, but I have become impatient and am eager to see the end result. I tried to skip randomly through the thread and saw many things. Monty Python, Red Dwarf to name a few. You have a very nice cat sir, but please take pity on a budding guitar builder and tell me where to look :)
Image Thanks, Respectfully .......Mark.

Hey Boxbang! Allow me to help out? :)

Page 33 gives you a sweet summary and then I believe follow some heavy guitar-porny shots of the final result. Cheers!

Sorry mate, I have a tame Garage owner who looks after me and quite happily exchanges my old bangers for....slightly younger old bangers! Good luck with the sale.

Andy, I've only recently started reading this thread and am only part way through it. I must say it is pure INFO-TAINMENT with an amazing cast of characters.
It surely deserves to be bumped up the list, not only to encourage more readers, but also to make it easier for me to find :) Great job mate.

Cheers man!

I didn't want to spam your thread with these pic's but the finish on my Huxley 501 was applied with a similar method to your naked Mexican.

This crops up on page 36....

That guitar was my first playable home made job. I was badly morning the loss of Randel's brother Huxley the Cat back in 2005 (there's some pics of him earlier in the thread) and decided to build a guitar in his name.

Man, I still miss Huxley....

Its a one piece mahogany body with a Greg Bennett neck (that's the neck that came with a fake skunk stripe stuck on the back!). Its got a very thin poly varnish and wax finish. Its was also the first of my Big Hairy Wiring schemes. It was built pretty much the same way as the Tone-caster but I made my own custom body shape based on one of my Godins.

Andybighair's Big Hairy Custom Built "Huxley 501" (above)

3 way coil split taps for each humbucker
3 way standard switching
Onboard 5 way distortion (Artec QDD)
Onboard tone booster with high/low gain switch (Artec VTC)
Onboard EQ Boost with Push pull bypass (Artec EXP)

Enjoy!
