WOW andy aint she coming along, I've been gone a couple of days and look whats gone on :)

I must say Xefri has come through with the goods, I was wondering if you were gonna go the black route for the pickups and ya have, excellent choice too.

I think it was nutter who mentioned this is gonna be the Leatherman of pickup configurations. I think a guitar with a 5 way super switch and an extra toggle switch is a Leatherman of a pickup configuration. Add 3 more S1 switches and a mid-boost circuit?!?! Are you planning on turning your air conditioning on and preheating the oven remotely via the guitar?

And finally Andy, currently I'm in sunny northam, roughly 150 km from home, so I'll take some shots of the mahogany body when I get home tomorrow and put em on a different thread for you and Koz to have a squiz at.

Great work BigHair :p

PS Hi Randle, good to know your hulking frame is still around :)

Once again floored by the thought going into the wiring. Sorry for the extra big pic. I deleted it so it wouldn't throw off the rest of the thread. Thanks Nutter for the shrink.

Thanks a lot peeps! :D

I just had to take a last moment to say how impressive this work is, not least the photography. I happen to know how tedious it is taking hundreds of pictures, editing and cropping them and all the rest. That goes more so when they're very detailed and crisp close ups like yours.

Hey, Thanks man! :D

Yeah, getting the shots for that last post was a real mission! Since starting this thread I have a new respect for you guys who have done this stuff before. Man, there is so much extra work that goes in to it. I have to say, your threads Ceri, are so well documented that the content detail and pics are certainly on par if not better than some of the guitar building publications I've recently purchased.

For those of you who haven't come across Ceri's work before, I recommend you do so. It's where I've got the format for this thread from. They're listed in The Nutter's guide to build threads. Here's the link:

I'm sure I see a wisp of smoke - that's real soldering taking place before our eyes, isn't it? You must have had help on that - did Ms BigHair handle the camera by any chance?

Yep! That's a real soldering action shot right there! But no help with the camera. Mrs Bighair wasn't about at the time and Randels lack of thumbs makes it difficult for him to hold the camera steady. To pull that off I used the ten second timer and my Joby Gorillapod.

Only problem was the camera was in the was in the way which is why the solder on that shot ended up all over the pot lug. Probably not the best example of soldering. I'll get a better shot next time.

Thanks again for the pic. I LMAO when I saw that! I can imagine how epic my hair would be if I used a product like that on it! Mind you I might have to soon as my big hair is starting to thin out!

Well many of you have asked what Randel the Cat has been up to recently. Well, he's been hanging out with a Snow Leopard from Peckham who was able to shed some light on what Ceri is up to for the next couple of weeks.

Rumour has it that our Ceri is the new face of...

It took me a while to figure that one out. But yeah, you're welcome! 8)

Oh, and thanks, Andy, for plugging the build thread listing thread thingy.
Finally you proved it to be actually useful. I have had my doubts up until now.

Achhh, what a guitar. What a thread. What great people involved. It's barely believable!

Keep up the good stuff, mates! 8)

Uh, I'm a nuisance at electronics, but I was wondering why you had a stereo output jack in your diagram. May that be it? 8)

Nope!

The extra contact on the Stereo Jack acts a switch for the 9V battery when you plug in.

Try again! :D

S1's and a superswitch

It could be anything. Both are infernal contraptions. I've only just worked out the lugs on a regular pot.

Your in the right area though. The mistake is on the 5 way Super switch.
