Thanks guys! :D

Yeah, I'm really chuffed with that inlay, couldn't have turned out any better!

I reckon I'm getting the hang of this whole thread business too. Lots of pics is what people want! There was 40 pics in the last two updates!

Great choice in birdseye. What are the others in the stripe Mr. BigHair?-N 8)

Why thank you Mr BN,

I believe its birdseye maple with walnut stripes. There's another type of wood in the middle of the walnut stripes but I'm having trouble identifying it

I still can't work out what type of wood is inbetween the walnut stripes, so Me and Randel have decided to call it Malcolm :D

Thanks again!

Hot damn indeed! Nice job man! Something about the sea air, obviously.

Painting your racing stripes on just seems so easy nowadays, don't it? When you could have them installed the authentic way. 8)

Indeed! I'm itching to see how the tummy cut comes about. Fill my glass, someone... :D

BTW: if Andy's and Kong's threads were run together we'd have to come up with pictures of cats and monkeys...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah! :)

Well, I reckon Randel the Cat going to turn into a chimp if he carries on munching the Cat Mint!

Look at the state of him!

Then he goes inside and taunts me over my previous failings....

Meaow”!?!

“Yeah right, you probably could do better if you had thumbs, but listen up buddy you don't and I do..so there” !

"Failings?" In the light of what looks like a very nice (three piece?) sapele Strat body you're going to have to explain that one, mate...

The stripped body looks better and better every day. Keep up the good work!

Failings..... FAILINGS!!!!

If you really dont care about that failing then you should send it to Kozy, I'm sure koz could use it to line up some measurements on the backup strat to his goldie..... Second thoughts Andy, I'll pay for shipping to oz, get it over to me and I'll fix her up nice and proper :P (randel, please make him think this is an ok idea)

Well, That was my poor attempt at a subtle introduction for my previous go at making a Strat body :D

It looks far better in that pic than it really is. It’s a one piece mahogany rear routed and badly finished (no grain filler Eeek!) disaster of a body, with way too many other faults to list here.

On the plus side that body does have some features that worked and the body shaping is nice, so for the sake of variety and a big reminder for how “not” to do things, I’ll be using it as a rough guide for the current chapter. I might try sorting it out alongside the current build but there’s a lot to do so it may have to wait for another time. I haven’t decided yet.

I’m planning a small mid-week update so you’ll get a closer look at it then

Joking aside I reckon Randel the Cat has a thing for guitars. I bought the body out to show my carpenter friend a couple of weeks back and Randel has claimed it as his new nap buddy!

Thanks again!

Even more off topic than usual for a second. Impulse, were you in my country recently? I always thought you were in Australia - but then you said something that made me think you were over here. Now it's Oz again.

Finding you very hard to keep up with, man!

One piece? Ooo, then I read that grain wrong (above). Where'd you get a blank big enough for a jointless body please, Andy?

And tell me it's African mahogany, not South American...?

Issues or no, it sure looks nice! :D

Ceri I'm back and forth (it was the "finding a decent beer comment" wasn't it).

Well, whilst reading all of this (and this is a first for these forums, saying what you've been drinking whilst READING the posts) I've been drinking....

Image

details can be found here:

http://www.matildabay.com/

A fruity yet full bodied beer. Earlier on this evening I partook in a couple of pints of Hobgoblin from Witchcraft breweries.... imagine that brew in more of a larger form and you've got the fat yak.

BUT despite my current global presence, I am always interested in what goes on here, and mate I can tell you given the current goings on, whilst I don't have a build idea on the cards, I CERTAINLY have a refinishing job on my hands.....

Dan

Done! :D

But several hours later - no reply. What - is this world round or something? Is the gentleman over the dark side and off in the land of nod at present?

Yo Impulse, man! Come for a drink! We'll take Pete Townshend's 5.15 down to Brighton and go inspect Andy's work, his big hair and Randel the Cat for ourselves! 8)

(I love cats! The rest will be fine.)

Cheers - C

EDIT: I drank too much antipodean wine this evening. Can you tell? :D

Less cat more Strat I say.

I have no desire to inspect a cat. I've one of my own and think he's nothing more than a hanger on.
