After 3 weeks switching between playing the new Strat and the Les Paul I've used forever, I've finally bonded with the Strat, and I'm choosing to take the Strat now to the gig, and leaving the Paul at home. The Strat is so much lighter, sounds so much clearer and brighter, and the compliments from the folks who follow the band around and have heard the difference is a plus. Of course with the tones being so much clearer, I'm hearing mistakes I make, so I've got to buckle down and practice more!
Now I'm gassin for another Strat!

I hear ya, I used to play a Les Paul Studio live, and the thing would just slice up my hands (I play aggressively) or strings would pop out of the saddles.
There is just more of a comfort that comes with Fender shaped bodies. For me its the thinness and the weight.

the strat just feels more like me. it sounds great. hell, i've got 12's on it and it's still easy to play.
