I was wondering what the name of the color of my strat is. I thought it was candy cola, but the pics of candy cola guitars Ive seen look a little different. Kinda looks like midnight wine to me, but I didnt think American Standards came in midnight wine.. The only Strats at my local shop are sunburst or 50's colors, so I have nothing to compare it to. Also, does the truss rod inlay look right?

Anyway, here are the pics.

I'm guessing there's a fair amount of variation in colors like Midnight Wine, Candy Cola, and even Candy Apple Red. At our local GC, I saw a Midnight Wine MIM Strat that almost exactly matched a couple Candy Apple Red Strats hanging next to it.. and I don't think it was marked wrong.. And, among the CAR guitars, there was a LOT of variation in lightness/darkness.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same sort of thing happens with the Candy Cola. If they're truly candy colors, the final color can be affected quite a bit by how much "cola" is sprayed over the metallic undercoat..

Looks like Candy Cola to me. My Midnight Wine strat looks WAY darker than that.

What about it? The truss rod plug, or "inlay" as you call it, is fine. All Fender guitars use a walnut plug, except MIM Standards which use black plastic.

Its an 06.

And about the truss rod inlay, it always just looked kinda on the light side to me compared to other strats. Just curious I guess.

Thanks!
