You might want to check out the 59 thinskins at Wildwood and Daves guitar. They have similar specs.I just bought one and it is similar except the Thinskin has a "modified SRV neck"6105 frets, clay dots and the pickups arent hum cancelling, which I think add to a bit fuller tone IMO.It also has a slab fretboard.

I have both the '59 and '62 HR,the 6105 frets on the '59 takes some getting used to but you can bend like crazy...the neck is a little fuller than the '62 HR also.
I would hate to see the '62 HR discontinued,it's a great guitar.

I just picked up a 62 HR because of the great reviews and the rumors of it being discontinued. I'm glad I jumped on one from Sweetwater when I did - great guitar. Why would Fender discontinue the HR? Not enough sales?

62's are nice, but I have to go with the fellas who are recommending the 59. I've actually played a real nice all original 1959 strat about 8 years ago. It was so sweet. It was only $15k. Alot of money, but they are twice that now. Anyway...the 59 neck was nicer than the early 60's, and it just felt right.

'59 strat? Wow. I like the neck profile on those but, I'm a sucker for rosewood!

The 59 strat is rosewood. You can go to Wildwood Guitars online and check them out .Mine is an ash body with white blonde and a rosewood neck.Complete with 50s custom shop pickups. It has a thinskin finish.Great guitar and they are the same price as the other vintage reissues.I have tried the 62 and 57 reissues and they are descent ,but I much prefer my 59.

I must be thinking of '57 models. '59 must be right up my ally then!
