I didn't have anything else to do this morning; while washing clothes I flipped over to 101 and caught part of a Farm Aid 09 concert and there's Ernie Isley ripping up and down a custom Strat. A little too much bling for me but the inlay on the fretboard is nice. Not to mention that I deprived myself of years of enjoyment from a talented musician because as a teen we didn't listen to that soul and disco stuff... kick me... I wonder if Alain will want one of these...

(Place kick here) The Isley Brothers were one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands in the world in the 70s-Too bad radio got so segregated from then on-Ernie kinda has one solo that he plays, (so does EVH, for that matter) but it's a damn fine one (as is EVH's). They didn't miss in the 70s. The box set is great, and check out Ernie's "High Wire" solo CD from 1990-part of a great period of R&B-meets-hard rock-meets pop that was around then.

Bling, that's a good word for it.

I found the "high wire" CD in the used CD bins for real cheap some years ago.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For many of us, me included the choice of guitar is down to feel and sound: cosmetics are a bonus. Others want something a bit different... maybe unique. That strat looks to be totally out there and he looks sooo comfortable with it. Bring it on!
