Nice guitar, but you low balled your "best friend" who needed to be hospitalized???? That's not cool!

Hold on there right now! You don't know me and I don't know you from a hole in the wall, okay? My friend has more guitars than a small guitar shop, and him and I have been friends since we were both 12 years old. He knows that I'm a hardcore Fender fanatic and is also aware that I'm married and have to pay a mortgage every month, along with utilities and other bills. He was the one who offered it to me for the price of $800.00. Anyone else, he was going to let them have it for $1,000.00. So before you start accusing people of stuff, I suggest that you at least get to know them or do your homework first. Good day!

You're right I don't know you. As long as you two were both truly ok with it, that's all that matters.

I just call em as I see em.

I was willing to pay the $1,000.00 for the guitar, but my friend wouldn't hear of it. He told me that we've been friends for way too long and he knows about my responsibilites, so he was only willing to accept the agreed upon price. He was happy with it, and was glad to see the guitar go to me, knowing that it's in good hands.
You really have no need to apologize ,the OP was totally out of line for saying what he said.Cant really judge someones motives or intent when you have never met that person.

Yup I bought that same model back in 2006... they had one in stock at my local guitar shop for $100 more than a standard.

Absolutely perfect guitar... plays like a dream. Mine is rather heavy, but it has never let me down. (usually I let it down by not playing for extended periods haha)

I replaced the pups with VNs because I got sick of the hum/buzz. I love it :)

A real beauty Jeff it is one sweet looking ax. Sorry to hear about your friend and I know where you are coming from, as many times a friend gets something for a different price than a stranger.

I'm thinking about replacing the 57/62 pickups with a set of Tex Mex pups. I play a lot of 80's Hair Metal and Classic Rock and IMO, those would be more suited for whay I play. The 57/62 pups are more for Blues and oldies IMO.
Actually, I think Michael Mc Cready plays I think a 50s stock strat I believe,I would look at other options than Tex Mex .JMO.
