When I set the Delta Tone knob at 9 on an American Strat, right before it clicks, is it the same as a Non Delta Tone pot set at 10?

I tried searching this but Fender's search doesn't let you choose to search just topics or just posts.

Its just not quite the same. Im about to replace mine with a normal pot. Its too hard to turn really fast with my pinkie.

Is it darker sounding without the Delta Tone engaged? What's the difference?

Traditionally, strats don't have a tone pot for the bridge pickup. On the delta tone system, the bridge is connected to the pot, but at 10 the pot is effectively taken out of the circuit, allowing you to get the classic cuttiong strat bridge tone while also having the flexibility to roll off the treble. I agreee with the above - I too find it very hard to roll off quickly with my little finger while playing, so I will probably just swap it for a normal tone pot.
