First let me preface this by apologizing if this has already been discussed before, but to be honest I'm just too lazy to go searching other threads to see if it has. SORRY!

Anyway, I'm installing Fender Noiseless pickups in my Strat and have heard that when installing noiseless pickups you also need to add a power booster since noiseless pickups affect power output. Is this correct?

If it is correct, can someone explain how a power booster is added and how it works?

Perhaps I should add that they are Fender "Vintage" noiseless pickups. Although I suppose that won't make any difference to the overall outcome.

What I think is confusing you is the Clapton signature Strat which has vintage noisless pups comes with a TBX and Mid Boost but that is in there at EC request. I have 5 guitars with Noiseless pups and you do not need any booster.

Straycat is right.

Many people end up installing the mid boost due to the sound of the Vintage Noiseless by themselves. The mid boost seems to bring the Vintage Noiseless to life where by themselves they seem to be lacking.

Thanks for the info guys. I was a little worried since I've already ordered the vintage noiseless pups and thinking that "oh geez, more money needed." Much relief...thanks!
