Hey guys, thanks for the responses! Sorry for the late reply, been out the country.

Yes, it's a Hwy 1 2009 limited edition, one of only 25 in Olympic White. I picked it up from Sounds Great Music in the UK. Cant find another one on the internet anywhere.

Suffice to say I'm over the moon with it :D

Sweeeeet. I own a black one and I love it. It became my main guitar before I deployed to Iraq.

By the way if you want it to give it a nice little shine and make it look just like the Strat from the ‘50s, you can use a mild rubbing compound, buff it out a soft rag and a bit of elbow grease. Your will start shining it with your arm naturally anyway. Some sort of paste will do.

Or you might like it just the way it is. It's just suggestion.

If you do decide to try buffing it out; I would start with small spot on the back and see how it looks to you. That way if you don’t like it, then you want be very upset. Or just wait and see what your arm does to the finish after rubbing against the body after a couple hours of playing.

I’m very happy that there is a one HWY1 Strat player out there. I think they are great guitars.

There are more than a few of us HWY1 fans on this board. ;)

Hi

I also own one of these guitars, and yes you are right it was 1 of 25 made. Here is the history.
It was a FSR, Factory Special Run, stocked by Dawsons in the UK 2009. The reason it was produced was because the white american standards were very popular, but the retailer was losing sales to poor skint folk becasue not everyone could afford £900 + for the american standard. So they wanted a cheaper alternative in the same colour to fill the gap. So they requested fender to make a FSR highway 1 in a olympic white. It was priced at about £750 when new, between the normal Highway 1 price (approx £500) and an American Standard (approx £900).

It was only ever requested once, therefore only 25 were ever made, and came from 1 production line. Probably all made by the same guy :) USA made of course.

After the 25 were sold they were never requested again by dawsons, thus this guitar has now become super rare.

You say you bought yours from Sounds Great Music, this company is based in Manchester. I bought mine from the Dawsons Manchester branch. My guess is Sounds Great Music had a deal with Dawsons or vica versa. Cool, a manchester exclusive fender :)

I'll never sell mine. Now its time to find the other 23.
