i'm graduating from college and moving. realized that i haven't played this beautiful thing in over four years (yikes) and it would be better in someone else's hands...

only problem is, i'm undecided as to how much it's worth. my guitar teacher at the time sold it to me, case included, at a steep discount and said it belonged to a musician friend of his who was late on car payments and had to sell it. i don't really have any specs on it - any guitar knowledge i may have had four years ago has long ago disappeared. maybe someone here can help me out.

pictures below. i know it's a 2004 american deluxe stratocaster but that's about it.

any thoughts would be appreciated. i've owned it for about 5-6 years, played it for 1-2 of those years, so it's in nearmint condition, besides needing new strings and a good re-tuning.

edit: yes, it does have noiseless pickups and such.

Well right now it is hard to give you a solid pricing since the prices change almost on a monthly basis. Since Fender dropped the big price hike there are specials on them from every store just about on a monthly basis. To make it clearer almost all artist signature guitars are supposed to sell for $2,200 but you will see them allover for $1,600 and so on and so forth with just about every model. Right now a Deluxe should be $1,700 but you can get them for $1,550 as of now at GC. Your guitar looks really clean and it is 5 years old besides having a humbucker , but then again it is not offered in that color anymore, does it have noiseless pups and S-1 switching? If so I dont see you having a problem getting $1,100 as it seems close to mint and with someone digging that color.

Doubt he will get that much for one. There is one exactly like his that has been sitting at GC in Hoover since Last August, and it is $950.

I have been looking to purchase one of these for a few months now.
I have seen them sell for as little as $800 but usually about $950.
There are a few on the bay for about $1100 but they are not selling.
It is a buyers market.
And if you want to unload it,,, : )

yeah, it might be better to just keep it around for a while actually. maybe pass it on to my kids or something. who knows. it's a pretty quality instrument. i'm having second thoughts about selling it honestly, but if you know someone in chicago who's willing to take it off my hands and give it a good home...

oh and btw, i'm a girl. :)

Over the past year, I have seen a few 2004 deluxe strats sell for $900.00 at G.C and local mom & pop stores.
