Hey guys,
I've been playing acoustic for about 5 years and decided to upgrade to a electric. I just got my VG Strat, it's black with a maple fret board! :D So I was wondering if you guys have any tips for transitioning from acoutic to electric and also some guitar care tips. (The VG is expensive and I want it to last!)

Thanks,
Chris

Since it's a VG all the quality is there so it's not going to break down over time like some of the mexican ones have been known to do. Besides checking the set up on it every year the only other thing i would recomend is to keep the hardware clean. Over time oil from your body can get on the hardware and cause a little bit of rust. Otherwise these are built to last so enjoy.

if you are transitioning from acoustic to electric, playing shouldn't be a problem. acoustics are generally harder to play on.

as for care, just clean the body with some guitar polish every once in a while.

oh yeah, clean the fretboard and strings very often. at least once a week, depending on how much you play.

Play the HELL out of it, and change the batt and strings form time to time...

There really is no magic strat care... Don't let it get too cold, hot, wet whatever. Extremes are bad. If you are comfy... the guitar is comfy.

I play both. But I play the acoustic more especially at home
because it makes playing the electric easier for me?
I don't fatigue as much and my fingers stay tougher. Play both but don't give up on the acoustic.
