Anyone know if the JV Strat has the same upgraded trem block as the MIM Standards? The JV Strat specs say its been in the product line since '97 so I'm not sure if they change the specs over time or not...

The Jimmie Vaughan Strat has a Fender Vintage American bridge (I forgot the exact name of it, but it's the same thing that's on most American Strats). It's not a full blooded Mexican Strat. It has American string spacing (which is slightly wider than the import string spacing found on Squiers and MIM Fenders) and it also has American electronics (pots, etc.).

Okay, thanks TGS! I have a CP 50's and I really like the neck profile on it and it sounds like the JV Strat has the same type of neck profile. That, plus the availability of Candy Apple Red in the JV Strat, is what interests me in this model. I'm gonna see if I can find one at a local store so I can check it out.

I think the string spacing in my CP 50's is also the wider spacing, so that's another plus with the JV Strat..

No problem, glad I could help. :)

To me the JV neck feels like it has a slightly softer V profile than the CP 50's. But it's definitely a V neck and if you like one you'll probably like the other.
