I've recentley traded in my strat plus for a 2010 deluxe hss, my old strat had a SD hotrail in the bridge and I'd like to get a similar sounding pickup for my new guitar - I was thinking of a SD SH-6, is this a similar sounding pickup to the hotrail? Any opinions or recommdations will be appreciated.

The Hot Rails has a lot of midrange whereas the Distortion does not. The closest you're going to get to it in a full sized Duncan is the JB, believe it or not. Note that you'll need a TB-4 (Trembucker spaced) rather than an SH-4. Keep your volume pot at 250K (which is OEM). You'll get more high end with the JB but everything else will be pretty much the same.

+1 on the JB. Best all around "hot" pickup there is, and it seem especially well suited to Ash/Alder bodies.
