Tell him we all said hello and be sure to ask when Dire Straits is getting back together because we all need to hear a follow up to "On Every Street."

I think Knopfler's solo CDs are uniformly good but the last one left me a little cold. Not enough guitar!

BTW - I hardly ever see any mention of the Mark Knopfler signature strat here - is it any good?

Hi rock god: I'm told that MK can sometimes be in a very nice friendly mood - and sometimes the exact opposite. I hope you get him on a good day! Good luck...

Hi Unadan: several Forum users own that model and so far I've never heard anything bad about it. A nicely spec'd Strat, to be sure.

Cheers - C

If all goes well should be something to remember, bring a camera. Personally I would take a picture over an autograph any day of the week.

Ceri funny you should say that ,greatness aside he never struck me as a jolly laugh a minute guy, neither does Sting.

'Zactly! Ask Knopfler's brother why he left the band. Man, that sounded like a rough ride.

And for that matter, ask Stewart Copeland why The Police ended. For example, he said Sting brough a switch blade to the final recording sessions and was throwing it across the room in an aggressive way that could have had someone's eye out. Sting said later: "Mmm - yes, maybe I was a little difficult to be around..."

And what about Van Morrison? Wow: not a barrel of laughs...

 - C
