Alright... Ive got everything built up in my strat and now want to do the final change. Now, Im trying to make it close to 1969 spec with new materials. Although, Ill be putting in a blender pot when I pull things out to paint.... so, its not perfectly to spec.. Im not even sure if rosewood was available with seafoam green.

I see on this chart http://home.provide.net/~cfh/fenderc.html a bit over half way down that only Sea Foam not Surf Green was available. What is the difference between these two colors? How might I find a color similar? Car paint?

This link has a 69 RI but it is in surf green (which wasnt offered in 69. But, I think I see aged covers and knobs with white 3ply, 11 hole guard)

http://www.gbase.com/gear/fender-custom ... 10-reissue

But... why the color difference... there should only be seafoam for a 69...?

Do you think the actual color difference matters that much... should I just choose a shade that is pleasing to me?

Its a MIM strat that is OLY white... so that means poly, correct?

Last question, Ive got "aged" pup covers and knobs but a "mint green" guard that came as a set from Fender. Does anyone have any recommendations for a guard color to get that vintage look? Should it be a 1PLY? 8 or 11 hole?

Should I stick with the mint green or perhaps find a parchment/aged color... perhaps cream... white? (although cream is often too dark for my taste.)

Here are current pics:

Thanks!!!

This link may help with the color selection......

On a guitar modeled upon the '69 prototype I would use a parchment guard since the nitro (hence "mint green") types had been discontinued a few years prior to that.

Will there be any problem swapping one of these with a MIM setup?

Just some drilling, yea? The bridge from the MIM should not be a problem correct?
