Gotta love the mint pickguard. I'm getting used to the higher frets vs. my EJ Strat. Love the tone - it runs quieter than the EJ and is "darker" sounding probably due to the vintage pickups and RW neck. I'm wondering if this particular model is being phased out as I got the last one from Sweetwater, MF and GC have 0 stock. I would have preferred the green but a sunburst is always cool too.

How is the neck on that thing?

I'm not exactly sure on the neck thickness but I really don't notice it being much different from the EJ strat I own. The fret height is the only diff that I have noticed while playing her.

Congrats on a lovely guitar.

That's the model that also has the Nitro thin skin finish and a satin feel finish on the back of the neck, is that right?

I hope they aren't phasing the Vintage Hot Rods out because I love the specs Fender has on those guitars and I have my sights set on one as my next Strat!!

Cheers,

Snowy.

you got it, the necks great...checked the product page and saw Fender is only offering sunburst and white, so I would get one while they are still around :D

The bridge really came up quite a bit with the 10's I put on, so they probably ship with 9's.

I don't know how I feel about the white balance on your digital camera though. Holy orange, Batman!

Just about to drop the gauge on my 57HR to 009's. I'm going to put black (lower tension) springs on it too. I've been playing my deluxe all week and fallen in love with the lower tension. The customclassic is donating the black springs as its blocked anyway.

I always had problems when I tried using 9s with keeping it in tune due to the variation in temperature around here.
