Post subject: Tremelo tuning string pinch..

I'm looking to buy a new Strat but everyone off the shelf has string pinch problems. Any suggestions? Even the roller bearing nut styles seem to have tuning issues. I love the feel and tone of Strats but I need help with solutions on this before I buy.

Seriously.

It sounds like that shop has a tech who thinks he can cut a nut that cant. First thing I'd do is inform the shop. Are you sure that the strings are actually pinching and not just old strings?
