Go to a guitar store and play everything you can. How much do you wanna spend?

Ha! If you hang around this forum that's all you'll hear! But they're all right, feel is where it counts, and if you can't feel a relationship with a guitar when you consider buying, you'll have to "settle" with what you get or return it. I got lucky with my Nashville Tele tho so it doesn't always work that way, although it does hurt my ribs and forearm sometimes......(WHEN WILL IT END! MAKE HIM STOP! :x )..........so anyway just go to a shop and play one for yourself because chances are you'll find one that you absolutely love, and you might never buy anything else lol. 8)

WELCOME TO THE FENDER FORUMS :D

then you should go to GC and play every strat and tele in the $500 range. I'm sure you'll find one that feels great and sounds the way you want it to.

I gotta say, I'm a strat girl, although there are many many guitars that i'd LOVE to own. But I ended up getting a standard strat for my first guitar, and I don't regret it at all!! It's an awesome guitar!!! I don't see myself getting rid of it any time soon. Then, a little while later, I got this really really great deal on an American strat! I love that guitar!!! But I would go with the standard strat if I were you, then maybe upgrade later if you wish. But, yeah, it really does depend on the feel, so what is right for you could be compleetly different for me. It all depends on what u like! Good luck!
