I was wondering if someone could tell me more about the DH-1 Humbucker of the Deluxe hss .

I have a stadart american HSS right now ( with the diamondback ) .

1 . Dh-1 vs diamondback .. in term of output

2 . Dh-1 could compare to what Seymour duncan humbucker .

the diamondback is someitmes compare to a pearly gates i think .

how would oyu compare the DH-1 ???

reaosn is im thinking abvout a deluxe HSS ..

or an american hss but i would switch the humbucker and to a jeff beck sh-4 ... but i remeber reading somehwere that the Dh-1 was fender version of a jeff beck humbucker .. is that true ???

i really dig the deluxe hss :) .

I do not have the background for a comparison. I just went from a Les Paul and wanted a classic strat sound. I almost didn't buy the HSS. However, after trying a SRV, Clapton, American Std, side by side with the American Deluxe HSS. I fell in love with ten different tones.

Now this may sound harsh...(I'm NOT going to sugar coat this any...).but I've owned BOTH the pickups you speak of.... Just because it bears the FENDER name doesn't mean diddley.
IMHO...FENDER just cannot do humbuckers right!!

Honestly.....they BOTH SUCK!!!!!

I've replaced ALL the HB's in ALL 7 of my Highway One HSS's and I've never been happier!! I also have an Amer. Dlx. Fat Strat that got it's HB. replaced and again...never happier!!

I've replaced the HB's with a combination of GIBSON (heresy...I know.....but damn they sound good!! I've got the 498T,490T, 57 Classic Plus, and BurstBucker 3)
And my latest favorite HB is the DiMarzio 36th Anniv. P.A.F.. A wonderful, chunky, classic rock sounding ALnico based pickup. (THAT's the key...IMHO..ALnico......NOT Ceramic!)

I hope my very biased opinion helps!

duncans are what i go with. i play an sh-6 distortion in the bridge but if you dont play aggressive things i would go with the duncan JB

Ok guys thank .. but i just read some very positive review about the duncan hot rails ( single coil space humbucker ) and i really think this would be perfect for my strat .. so i can buy a model like highway one ... and switch the pickup .

i think ill go for a honey blonde , maple highway One and drop a hot rails in it . would be the perfect axe for me . :)

yeah i got to agree that the dimaonback humbucker is not bad .. but not over the top either .

thank really much for the info ...

Seymour Hotrails are an awesome sounding pickup and suit the strat very well - I've used them in three different strats now over the last 15 years and I can't fault them at all! - definitely the way to go.
