"Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits

This is a tougher lead that some people realize. There are some lightning fast arpeggio's in there.

and how does he do it without a pick its nearly impossible

Mark Knoffler is one of my heros, and I agree, Sultans of Swing is a great, great song to play. He has arguably one of the most unique strat voices simply because he uses his fingers.

Try growing your nails on your right hand a bit. I've been playing classical guitar since I was 10 and that's how the classical players do it. Just don't let anyone catch you filing your nails with an emry board. :)

Right now I'm messing around with Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile"-i need to get a wah pedal for x-mas-and some Rush songs( Camera Eye , Fly by Night, and Working man )...But i tend to lean towards more bluesy type songs.

GJ, hey dude, props to your jingle sale. that must feel great.
congrats.

fender fanatic, brad paisley can really solo. im a huge brad paisley fan.
also, srv, jm, david gilmour, eric clapton and list goes on.

right now ive been messing with learning my scales back and forth.
blues, major, minor making my own licks with what i know so far.
thats my zen time.

ive i would have had the oppurtunity and funds to learn guitar i would have started as a kid. fortunatelly i found the passion for it out of the blue 4 years ago. mostly acoustic, its funny how when your not experience in something, you think that its easier.. anyway i thought electric guitar was easier, little did i know. its a whole new world...
my 2 cents.

Recently, despite my leanings towards being a blues purist, I've decided to play some fake book Beatles tunes. That way, I can play songs my kids like. In the fake book, the guitar part is basically the singing melody, and it doesn't include the solos! I can stand playing the melody for something accessible to the kids, but anybody got tab for the solo in Something In The Way She Moves?

I was working on the intro to Octopus Garden last week. Fun little riff to keep your chops up.
