I cannot agree more, Groovemongrel. How does he write these tunes when he could not read music? For some reason I'm always thinking this whenever I learn a new SRV tune.

The Lenny guitar inspired me to learn the song by the same name, and that's just such a cool tune too.

That's a great, great song. Trying to follow his or Hendrix's tabs are really tough. So much easier to just find the key and play along with those dudes.

My Prince woodshedding paid off. The client loved it, the funky jingle for the carpet store sold today.

Also doing final production for the bank piece (the Snuffy Walden tune I mentioned) this week. Man, I can't play acoustic for four hours straight anymore.

Wow, I don't believe how long of an SRV conversation I started. For more Stevie Ray hoo hah, check out "A Few Words for SRV".

Excellent. I downloaded a PF show from 2/19/88 off of Traders Den this weekend. Super soundboard. The show opens up with Shine. I also go over Gilmour licks like crazy although I rarely try and learn the entire song. I'll get a few new licks and go over them a million times then move on to something else.

Hey Groovy, yeah I love listening to DG. I kind of would like to be him when I grow up :D He is not real fast, but his is meaning full.

One day that will be me... That's all I can really ask right?

Chris

This is a tougher lead that some people realize. There are some lightning fast arpeggio's in there.

Some of them only can be done that quick by chicken picking.
