63supro, thanks for the message. Glad I'm not the only old fart around here.

Twelvebar, nah, I play right handed, the way it should be. hehe!! I just put the sticker on upside down. The cherryburst was my first build and when it was finished my friend was here with me and when I went to put the sticker on it was upside down in my hand. I wasn't really paying attention to that part of it, I was just trying to make sure it was getting on straight. My friend noticed it was upside down and I jumped back real quick, laughed and said to him "Wouldn't that be funny? I put all this time into making sure everything was perfect and then I go and F up the sticker." Then, after really looking at the sticker I noticed that it was balanced on both ends, that must be why I didn't notice anything weird about it. So, I just said screw it and put it on upside down. No one else does so why not? hahaha!! As for Fender decals, I think I would only do that if, God forbid, the neck busted on my Clapton and I picked up a Warmoth neck or something for it. I'd never do that to a full "partscaster" though.

Ceri, you know, when I was going through your thread and I saw the color and the masked binding I thought of mine. You have good taste. hehe!!

All you other guys, thanks for the welcome. I think I'm going to like it here.
MULLY
now I need to see your guitars.....I can never see too many guitars :D

Welcome to the forum Mully and this is kind of strange but I have the feeling you and I are going to hit it off.lol First your taste in music is just about identical but there are even more similarities than that. I also own an Olympic White Clapton and a Pink EBMM EVH, and if you check back on some older post about 2 months ago a video of the late great Danny Gatton was put up with him playing a Strat with no volume knob or pot and since I started out playing a suped up Tele with DiMarzio Fast Tracks for over a decade I had the same problem with the volume knob on a Strat getting in the way and after watching that I had that mod done to my Beck Strat and cant believe I never thought of doing myself all the years I am playing, as it is the greatest mod ever. The only thing is I put a small cool little decal over the hole as my tech was going to order a new pick guard without the hole but I dig the decal.

You did a great job on those Warmoth's, give your self credit they are smoking. I am trying to make out the design coming down the neck of the white one, is that an Ebony board? And the top on the other is off the hook, reminds me of a Strat Ultra top. Who did the 5150 for you or did you pick it up on the bay, as it was done really nice. Surprised you do not own any Wolfgangs. There are certain things I like a little better on each model but I find the 15 radius neck on the old Peaveys more comfortable. I am meeting this guy next week in my friends shop as I am funding a new purchase and had to sell an ax I know I will be kicking myself in the a## but he wants my 1st year quilt Purple Wolf which I really did not want to part with as they are like my kids lol especially the 1st year quilts which they only made about 500 in each of the 4 original colors and the 3 I own are in 9+ to mint condition. I am still working on talking him into taking something else.lol Anyway welcome and I am sure you will like it here as I feel we have the best forum on the web by far, besides some of the smartest and most talented.

Thanks for this. Where to begin?? Wolfgangs, been through 4 of them. 3 Specials and 1 standard. Here 2 photos from the past, all of these guitars have new homes now... the 5150 I have now is my 3rd one. As for the amps, the gear in the photo with the dark cherry Wolfgang is my current rig.....sort of, I don't have the 5150 head or the Mesa cabinet anymore. Anyway....

There are 3 Wolfies in these 2 photos and I also had a red and white striped one for a very short period of time. Those solid colored specials just sound like garbage.

The Kramer. This current one I got from Mean Street guitars. It's currently on the auction block here in Japan. hahaha!!

The neck on the white warmoth, yeah, it's ebony. I think the grain in it was considered a "flaw" so I got it at a discount. Insane figuring there. I would have been willing to pay more for it because of that. I don't see it as a flaw, if anything it really makes the entire guitar stick out. Here's a shot from Warmoth when I bought it....

Sorry to hear you gotta get rid of one of your kids. It really is like losing a family member.

Very nice Dark Cherry Burst Wolfgang Standard, one of my top 3 non custom shop colors. Once they started making the EXP Specials in Korea it really hurt the whole line and was the beginning of the end. By the way which neck do you prefer an EVH or a Wolf.

I would think you would know this site but if you dont www.rockandrollweekend.com it is the most informative site on Wolfgangs and EBMM EVH guitars. The guy Geoff that runs it is a really good guy with the sickest collection you will ever see. You know your Pink EVH is a hot guitar as there were only about 200 made in that color and now that I saw yours and am looking at mine I know where 7 of them are.lol

Wow that is bugging me out that that is a defect in your Ebony board, as I thought it was some kind of design like the vines in a Gem. Very cool indeed.

Thanks for the message. For the necks.....hmmmm....I think I may prefer the EBMM over the Wolfie, but with that said, I don't dislike the Wolfie. This cherryburst Warmoth's neck has a back contour and fingerboard radius of the Wolfgang. To be honest though, it doesn't feel the same to me. But, I think I prefer the MM. It just fits right in my hand.

Thanks for the link to the RnR weekend site, I've never seen that one before.

Yeah, the figuring in that fingerboard makes the entire thing. Everyone that sees it ooh's and ahh's over it. But, in the end, for an ebony board, it's a flaw.
MULLY
a very nice flaw in my opinion :D

Welcome aboard mate!
You have done a great job building those guits, decal and all! 8)
As already stated, you are fairly safe posting guitar pics of all makes around here.
We all know what great threads Ceri makes! Stick around, there is actually quite a lot of talent and personality lurking about that makes this place pretty cool!
