If you really like it, it's a good buy. I have an original 72 and I'll never part with it. The reissues are probably a lot better.

yes, if u really like it go for it...but you should consider the 3 bolt-on neck and the weight of the guitar is so heavy..different from light years strat

In the 38 years I've had my Start, I never had any issues with the neck. No stability or intonation problems at all. It's a Maple neck and board so maybe that has some bearing on it. A buddy of mine has a 69 Strat that's a boat anchor and is almost 2 1/2 lbs heavier than my 72.
