Is that not 'the strat' ? as in the late 70s/early 80s model and the first strat to actually be officially named 'strat' (see below)?

That picture of George from the concert for bangladesh, who is that behind his elbow playing the hollow body? And what song did he solo on for that concert? (he wasn't exactly in top form that day).

The song was While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Eric even admitted in
interviews that he "should have used a Fender or Gibson" (solid-body)
because it (the Byrdland) was hard (?wrong) guitar to use for that song.

It's Eric Clapton, my boy!

Eric has not only used his Byrdland on that concert. "Brownie" makes him always recognizable, despite his long hair and moustache.

Harrison looks like the Caveman from the gieco commercials in this picture

It looks like the guitar in question is a 1979-80-ish 'The Strat". Gold hardware and buttons gave it away!
I believe it was available with a Rosewood fretboard like the one John is playing.

Yeah, with that weirdo X-1 bridge pickup used on the Dan Smith Standard. These early-80s Fenders had perhaps the worcest bridges ever made.

It looks to me like a Fender "The Strat" that was made right around the time of his last interview. I own one that looks exactly like the one in the picture. They were known for being heavy guitars, they also came in Lake Placid blue. :)

Re George and John's Sonic Blue Strats:They were both 1961 models and sonic blue was a pretty rare colour in '61 as a matter of fact The Guitar Broker-Craig Brody in Weston Fla. recently was asking $90,000 for one, but that price was way through the roof,no doubt to capitalize on the Beatle colour connection.
