I like Shaller and Dunlop. The Dunlops are a dual system with a push instead of a pull to release mechanism. Either brand are good in my opinion; however, I like the Dunlops a little better.

I dont bother with em. I have some of them plastic things knocking around somewhere that I used to use.
My customshop and deluxe both have schallers. I just use the bit thats screwed onto the body.
I hate them dunlop ones where you have to drill a 1/4" hole into the guitar body.

I have never had to drill any hole with the ones I have gotten. Of course I have only recently started using them. Maybe a recent change? The screws are just a touch longer, but not 1/4" diameter. Are these what you are talking about? Just wondering because you are not the first person that has said they did not want to drill holes to install them.

Hey Nick,
I gotta agree with RK there...where the devil did you see Dunlaps that required drilling? I've got 2 sets of Dunlaps on my MIM Strats (buttons at least, only one set of actual strap parts) and I've got Schallers on both my '85 MIJ and my old Kramer and I've never had to drill/redrill anything with either brand...I just pulled the old strap buttons off and screwed the new ones on. Sorry but that sounds a bit freaky...I'm sure there's possibly a slight difference between these after market screws and the originals but I wouldn't think it would be all that much at all...at least I've never seen any like that.

Peace,
Jim

I don't understand why someone doesn't make a good one that uses the stock strap buttons. I'd rather not change them.

Had Schalers on an American Standard years ago. Still managed to have one come loose, but I lucked out and caught the guitar.
