No ,but in the long run it could only be good news (hopefully).I think the newer American Standard is way better than the previous American Series in regards to QC.

I, being a QC Manager for MANY years now, cannot accept that explanation. Any organization cannot and will not suspend operations due to a QC issue unless something catastrophic has occurred and even at this, a blatant deficiency causing a shutdown cannot happen if proper procedures were being enforced/followed in the first place. Now, presuming a deficiency in a given area is perceived, this would be limited to where this section, group or whatever you want to call it would have new procedures in place within hours upon which, pages replacements to the QC manual concerning these new procedures would be issued to the cognizant personnel along with simultaneous elbow training from myself and my adjutants concerning whatever modifications are to be put in place. Keep in mind, QC is an ever evolving, ever improving and ever implementing activity. It is NOT a, "stop everything, wipe the slate clean and start over from scratch" type of thing. If for nothing else, consider the logic (or lack thereof).

Frankly, me thinks you're getting a royal BS story where someone at the store simply ignored whatever little or no QC they were supposed to follow concerning processing your order. YMMV.

With Martian here, I find it hard to believe anyone would stop the flow of all products to change a process such as QC. That has excuse written all over it.

I ordered a Candy Cola late in February ... still waiting.

I am interested in Fender's explanation.

Could it be something to do with the gibson wood investigation? Fender were mentioned too.

Same story here. I ordered an Am. Std. on Feb 2nd from my local dealer here in Kingston Ontario. At first, I was told that the usual wait time was roughly 2 weeks which is a standard estimate from most dealers. When I returned to the store a couple of weeks later I was informed that the ETA was now for April 15th. I almost cancelled my order at that time and settled for my second choice of colour but I decided to wait for the olympic white/rosewood I had been dreaming of.

So...............I returned to the store on April 15th to request an updated ETA and now it is supposed to arrive the first week in May or more precisely, in 16 days according to Fender. I have a strange feeling that it is not going to show up next week and the ETA will be changed to later in May or even June. What makes me think this? I check the ETAs of the American retailers, and now the oly.wht/rosewood arrival is estimated for the end of May. I have also been informed by a different Canadian retailer (the largest chain in Canada) that the American retailers will receive their orders before Canadian orders will be shipped and there will be a longer wait.

What is going on? I sent an email to Fender several weeks ago and did not expect a reply but they got back to me within 24 hrs.. Their advice was to contact my local store for an ETA. Thanks alot!

Does any one from Fender actually read these forums? If so would they care to comment? Can anyone tell that I'm slightly fed up? To wait is one thing, but to get the run around is something completely different.

Thanks for listening. I'm just a little %!&&ed.

If it is a QC issue, look at it like this folks. How many people say they bought Fender guitars with severe QC issues? How many people complained about it? I find it funny that Fender may be taking this seroius and people are complaining.

I hope you all receive your guitars soon, I really do. I hope they are everything you hoped for.

I think Fender is going through something slightly different; not sure exactly what, but I feel a change in the air. I ordered strings from my favorite on-line store almost 2 months ago and have yet to see them. Luckily the on-line store does not take my money until the order is processed and ready to ship.

I need to check in with my dealer. He is an old friend so I know I can get a straight answer. As long as my product is flawless I will not have a problem with the wait, but mercy, I might have paid a little extra to get one from MF or GC had I known.

The truck probly got stopped by Jan Brewer. That's why she passed that law, she wanted the entire run of Strats for herself.

Well if by some miracle someones ears at Fender finally opened up and they are taking care of QC issues they might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and shake up Customer Service which has always been at the bottom of the barrel while they are at it. For those who always come to there aid step outside the box and call Peavey or EBMM Customer Service to find out how you really should be treated when spending your money. In fact I get the royal treatment even when I tell them I bought the guitar second hand.

My local dealer requested another ETA from Fender this morning and the answer was not what I wanted to hear. I was told that nothing is leaving the Arizona factory until the end of July. I cancelled my order and got a full refund. Fender may have some problems but my local dealer is one of the best.

I am the Director of Sales for a technology firm in Socal. This issue could be caused by several factors, including some type of QC bomb. We just went through a severe backorder cycle here. The cause was actually a pretty simple one. The econonmy has caused adjustments in people and materials over the last year plus. Sales went down, inventory levels went down, people got laid off and capacity was adjusted. This occurred not only at our facility but all the way up the supply chain. November last year comes and we get a pleasant but unexpected bump in orders. Is it a trend or a anomaly? Not enough data yet. December comes and the bump turns into at least a bump and a half. Are we on top of it or on the other side of it? January double bump....all of a sudden the entire supply chain is backordered and deliveries are out until March.

Supply would be more logical reason for a delay of this nature. QC, across the entire product line (because the making of a guitar has nothing to do with QC on a string or amp, would mean someone f'd up on a monumental scale.

Thanks,

He's heard nothing specific and is waiting on 30 guitars, one of course is mine . . .
