I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of three of these as I want to give them a try and they are within my budget. My question has to do with pot values, etc...

Does a new set of three come with pots? If so, what are they? 250K? 500K? 1 meg?

Are there any wiring issues I need to be aware of?

Thanks for your time!

I don't know what resistance value pots Fender is putting in their Noiseless series this week. I will say this: 250K Audio for all is by far, your best bet. Bear in mind too that these are ceramic magnet pickups so you will not get the sweet, chimey bell tone aspects from these pickups. Also, although they are touted as, "Hot", don't be disappointed when you find out that they are in reality, of moderate output.

I have the vintage noiseless (not the hot one) and they came with two 1 meg and one 500k.

I had, at one time, tried them out with regular 250k pots, under 'normal' single coil specs and found them muffled sounding.

I'll add another thought- those noiseless PU's are designed to be used with those higher level pots , and they are a nice match to adding a humbucker as the humbuckers typically use higher level pots.

I really think you will like these pups but as Martian said dont be misled by the HOT in the name. The best way I can describe them is that they have more bite but they are not particularly loud. I have 5 Fenders with them and ranging from SCNs, to Vintage Noiseless to Hot and love them all, but the guitar that really can bring it is my Clapton Strat and that is because of the TBX and Midboost that is in the guitar that makes it so loud.

Martian says that they are not really single coil pups and are really stacked humbuckers so I would say that is written in stone as Martian is the #1 electronics guy on the whole forum in my opinion though Xhefri is a wiz too. He is right that you will lose the bell chimes but I have that sound in another ax and am a hater of 60 cycle hum. But then again from experience they do not sound or have the output of any stacked humbucker I know. The best way I can put it is they are like a hybrid pup, but I highly recommend them.

Martian I am still waiting for the day I give you an ax to let you work that Martian magic on.lol

I thank you for your kind words!

What did you have in mind for me to do to one of your axes?
