Has anyone tried these? I was considering upgrading my Classic '50 Player trem block to one of these.
It sounds good in theory.

After reading this, I'm considering getting the block and arm for my Strat.

I have a Callaham block on my number 1, and I can attest to one fact:

If you are replacing a sintered non-ferrous block (like the mostly-zinc block that you find on imported trems and less expensive Strats), the a cold-rolled steel block like the Callaham makes an enormous difference in tone, sustain and response. Best $60 ever.

I can't speak to whether or not there is any such improvement when replacing a steel block, as many of the Fender's now have. Callaham makes some claims about how their process is better than Fender's process, and this sounds to me a bit like voodoo.

But I don't have direct experience with that. I can only testify that replacing a non-ferrous block with a Callaham works like gangbusters.

eddie:

If a magnet won't stick to your current trem block, then you'll hear the difference.

Yup...

Has anyone tried the DeTemple Titanium blocks?...They cost quite a bit more, but apparently sound great.

Wow, they ARE WAY more expensive.
You would think titanium wouldn't be as good as steel because it's going to have less mass.
