That white really pops, yeah the Tortoise seemed a little dismal for me, yours looks great, did you have to punch out the hole for the push button? I bought the rosewood fretboard, I like the look of the Maple, but for my needs all info pointed towards rosewood. I wonder how a blue pick guard would work? How are the machine heads, I think there are some gold locking ones out there.

I don't own a Deluxe ..I was playing one earlier today. That was this color blue with Tortoise and Rosewood neck..I may own one in the future though...Now that i'm over my MIA Snobbery...

I drilled the hole for the switch. Also under the pickguard, the switch is screwed onto a thick, plastic post-like thing. I had to pry that off the old pickguard and glue it onto the new one. I don't know how a blue pick guard would look, but I would love to see it if you go that route. I like rosewood as well, but when I first started buying guitars I only wanted maple. I'm a Pao ferro and rosewood girl now. The tuners are the Vintage/Gotoh type which are my favorites. I don't use the tremolo on this guitar so they work fine. Schaller makes gold locking tuners.

I have yet to play one that's properly set up with good action. The techs at the local shops don't really stress that, which is kind of dumb, but I'm sure its a really sweet guitar.

Your statement, "Techs at local shops" is somewhat of an oxymoron. See, most "techs" at local shops skills are limited to successfully changing strings and not much more.

Haha true. I should have said "guitar sales associates" instead, huh?
