I'm getting ready to pop for a new axe, I'm leaning heavily towards the Deluxe Players Strat, Saphire Blue. Any feed back would be appreciated, I'm a fairly new player moving up from a Starcaster. I tried out a Deluxe Players at a Guitar Center seems good, feels good. Just want to get it right since I think it will be a while before I upgrade to 2K plus Strat. $599 I can deal with at my playing level. Any advise on the Deluxe Players Strat. Thanks

Its an amaizing axe , play it for a year and then change it a little but the deluxe player and the road house are just perfect out of the box. Take it to a Professional Tech to do a setup and thas it..

ITS A GREAT CHOICE... DO IT

Its a great guitar. 12" radius is awesome. Gold hardware looks really nice. I have the roadhouse, only because I like the tinted maple neck and Texas Special pickups.... I really like the Lonestar look and feel, but hate the HSS configuration. Pearly Gates kills the Texas Specials...

I agree , wish they had made the rosewood sss combo available.I have a MIA Texas Special that I removed the humbucker and turned it into a sss with the texas special and am much happier.MIM=few choices.MIA= alot more choices.

I actually traded my lonestar in for roadhouse for that reason... I wish I'd just replaced the pickguard and single coil instead now..

The shop where I bought my Powerhouse has a used Deluxe Players on the wall right now. I don't know the color but you can see the wood grain through the blue and it looks awesome. $595 on the tag. I didn't take it down and noodle on it but I could any time I'm in there. 8)

I just this minute got back from going to a friends house who just bought a MIM Deluxe player Strat..He paid $475 for it used..It did have a few Dings and dents and appeared pretty dirty and in need of cleaning..

It is a strange color configuration that i really liked the body was Blue Transparent with Gold hardware and Tortoise colored pickguard..With the Rosewood fret board it looked really sharp and i'm not much of a Rosewood fan i prefer Maple...

With all this said no matter how sharp a guitar looks it comes down to how it plays and sounds...Although i still prefer the Roadhouse this is a real strong guitar...It also played real well after getting use to what i believe is a different neck size then a American Standard or my other MIM's..It felt larger..But after a few minutes of playing it felt real natural..

I think i will also say for a classic rock tone i think it sounds better then the Roadhouse Strat..It seemed like this is were it really shined..For Blues which is my music choice it was solid but i think there are better out there .Although this guitar was no slouch for the Blues either.I'm not much of a modern guitar player so i can't say much about metal or harder rock..

It would be my opinion that for your second guitar it would be a long time before you would be looking for another Strat..

I know i wish my second guitar would have been like this one...I think that once i get done recouping the money i spent on the Roadhouse and Blues Jr i bought this month and i come across a deluxe player at the right price.. I will buy one eventually..I really really liked the way it looked...Besides the fact it was a great player...

Thanks for all the info, I sent the Boss Lady to GC and ordered the Deluxe Players with rosewood fb in Sapphire Blue, so I should have it by the weekend. Under 6 bills and she's weaseling some goodies out of them. I better go practice so I'm worthy!

I love mine. Mines not the current "deluxe players strat".., but rather the 2001 Deluxe super strat. It's the same thing, the only difference being the pups. Mine has the "super fat super strat" pups vs the "vintage noiseless".

It has a great feel, and great tone, and sounds sweet through my Blues DeVille. I also have a couple other standard MIM's and if I had to keep only 1, the deluxe would be it hands down. If I were to somehow lse all of them, I suspect I would replace it with another deluxe. For the price, it really is hard to beat. I was lucky enough too, that mine has a very nice tint in the neck. I really don't forsee ever letting go of it.

I have a 2007 burst w/rosewood, it is my #1 Strat and I love it. The pickups had to go though and so they did.

The 12" radius takes about two serious sessions of playing with it until your are totally comfortable and adjusted to it. Once this is achieved, you'll be all over the board like a champ with effortless chording and bends you wouldn't dare attempt on a lesser radius Strat neck, especially with the nice, low action which can be had because of the radius. The ash body also give a nice, distinct projection to the tonality of the guitar too. I think you'll be quite impressed.

Lots of luck with it!!!

Congratulations on your purchase. I got my Deluxe Players back in 2007; it was my first strat. It is very well made and I love the flexibility that the custom switching adds. The pickups are pretty mellow; I know some people have complained about the Vintage Noiseless pickups being weak. I find them kind of jazzy. The only thing I didn't like about this guitar was the pickguard. I hate tortoiseshell pickguards. I changed it to a white one last year. I think you will enjoy yours. It's a very nice guitar for the money.

That white really pops, yeah the Tortoise seemed a little dismal for me, yours looks great, did you have to punch out the hole for the push button? I bought the rosewood fretboard, I like the look of the Maple, but for my needs all info pointed towards rosewood. I wonder how a blue pick guard would work? How are the machine heads, I think there are some gold locking ones out there.
