The green is cool (can still be found). Of the earlier versions, I saw SRV play one in Detroit back in the day, when he joined EC on stage for 3 songs (think it was the Palace of Auburn Hills IIRC). EC was playing the black one. Saw SRV the night before in Ann Arbor, second row. About a year before he died. Still my favorite concert ever.

Anyway, I'd say whichever appeals to you the most. I just picked up a black one, and I love it!

I personally feel that there is a reason that everyone and their mother has a black Strat. It's because it looks good. I have a 93 MIM Strat and I wouldn't pick any other color. It is probably one of my favorite guitars and I have 10.

I'm going to have to go against the black. I'll agree that black is probably the nicest color and looks fantastic, but I would never own a black guitar. You can't keep fingerprints and smudges off of it. Lighter colors are the way to go. I have the olympic white and love it. If I was buying one new I'd go with the Pewter. The green looks really bold but again, smudges everywhere, all the time. I want my gear to look as good as it sounds.

When I bought my American Standard, I chose charcoal frost metallic with a maple neck.It looks real similar to pewter.I really like the look of it .Really unique and not everyone has one.

Oh yeah, the greyish/silver body with a maple neck looks ultra cool. I used to have an inca silver strat. I bought it off of eBay many years ago. In the photos on eBay it looked silver and I fell in love with it. When it arrived it had more of a greenish tint to it. I guess the flash brought out the silver. It was still a really cool looking guitar though.

It's not very Rock n Roll but, black is always the safest bet with a Stratocaster.

GREEN all the way .. the clapton green is an awesome color and people recognize that clapton strat from miles . Black is available in every model .. mim , squier . american etc... Its boring .

My strat is black and i dont like the color very much .. but it played like a dream and i had a deal i couldnt refuse . but i found black to be boring and sunburst too .

Sonic blue ,

clapton Green ,

surf green

blizzard pearl

olympic white .

honey blonde

best colors ever

unfortunatly this year fender almost only come with sunburst and black for stratocaster on many model and that suck .

Different strokes, I suppose.

That green is hideous to me, but then again I've never liked any shade of green. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't appeal to me. St. Patrick's day is a nightmare for me.

I've always loved black, dark red, charcoal gray, etc. Every guitar I've ever owned has either been black, deep red (I hate bright red almost as much as green) natural wood, or a sunburst.

I despise white also.

All that being said, I'd go black.

Candy Apple Red with matching headstock and an internal Roland-Ready MIDI pickup system (GK2A or GK3) [I know that Eric played an Ibanez/Roland G-505 guitar synthesizer in the mid-1980s during the BEHIND THE SUN tour, but I'm not certain if he really needs the synth-access feature on his personal guitars these days to play synth guitar tunes such as Never Make You Cry and many of the synth guitar tracks from the Edge Of Darkness album such as Oxford Circus], Vintage Noiseless pickups w/ "Hot" Ceramic Noiseless pickup in the bridge, TBX, active mid-boost and a blocked tremolo with a Fishman Powerbridge piezo system (like Pete's own guitar).

I like the Black, I did a little custom work to commemorate my Navy retirement (actually the guitar was gift from my friends), I think it came out great. Thanx Greasy Groove...

Black is too common. Green is kewl. White has a classic look, so is Torino Red. I think I would go Pewter to be different.
On the Custom Shop side I would definately go with Antigua Burst. I think thats the koolest color.
