Does anyone know if the covers of these pickups can be removed? I want the pickups but I also want to keep my current aged covers.

Thanks!

They can be removed but are too big for normal covers to fit.

Ahh, too tall? Are there replacement covers for stacked pickups available in aged white?

Thanks again.

DiMarzio offers covers in various colors to fit its stacked-coil Strat pickups (HS2, HS3, YJM, Virtual Vintage, etc). These are taller than the standard SC Strat pickup cover but I do not know if they will fit over Fender's Noiseless bobbins or not. In fact I'm not certain that the Noiseless covers are in fact removable. I know that the SCN covers are not.

I was looking at the Dimarzio HS-3... might be my perfect option.

Thanks for the responses!

I removed the covers from my 'Hot Noiseless' Fender pups for the same reason you want to. As stated above, regular Strat covers will not fit. These pups are heavily wax potted so you must be very careful removing the cover as the wax will stick to the cover and you run the risk of tearing the coils. Once the covers are removed you can 'age' them by staining them with coffee or tea. Mine turned out exactly as I wanted them to. Best of luck!
