Sorry if there has been a post on this topic before, but I was looking at some of the Heavy Metal Strats and wondered if anyone would like to see them return? I would love to get one, I could have got one a couple of years ago but decided not to for some reason. I was young and naive I suppose. I mean Strats are beautiful guitars, but I don't want to have to customize every Strat I decide to get to fit my playing. I do love Stratocasters, they just feel and sound awesome.

So what do you guys think?

Yes or No to a HM Strat return?

Something tells me that Fender aren't going to directly cut into the Charvel/Jackson market.

I have about 15 HM's including a NOS that I bought a few years ago in mint condition, original case and all case candy.

Many HM's have missing parts from the Kaher Spider trems. Those trems can also be quirky but the Dimarzio Super Distortions do sound great. Gotta love those Strat's in all those obnoxious colors. It's the same with sports cars. The louder and more obnoxious the color the better. Salmon, Pink, Teal...Oh yea.

I have three of them apart now that will be getting the custom treatment with new obnoxious colors. I'm thinking late 60's Chrysler colors. Of course the only Strat's that I would think about doing this to.

I love em but I agree I think Fender will leave that market to Charvel.

Well, according to all of Charvel's recent advertisements for the production San Dimas line, the current run is the last of the series. Seems like now is as good a time as any unless Charvel has something up their sleeve to compete in that price range.

I always wanted one. I ended up with a Squier HM III back in the late 80's, I just could not afford one back then. The Squier version was awesome, my only complaint was the pointy headstock. I can only imagine the Fender version was better. Since I just purchaced my 3rd guitar in as many years, I hope that Fender does not plan on new productions until 2015. May 2015 is when I can purchace my next guitar according to my wife. (lol)

Heck yeah! I own one of the originals AND I have the Heartfield Talon that Fender marketed next.

I loves a good "Super Strat"

UMMM...I vote no. There must be a reason Fender discontinued it. Don't get me wrong its a cool guitar and it serves well to those who have one. Hey sence they called it a Heavy Metal strat why don't they make a Emo strat?

(Just kidding on the Emo strat) 8)
