I bought this strat body under the belief that it was a MIM Deluxe Strat. However, the more I try to find out what model it is the more confused I get. It has HSH pickup routing, the Vintage Sychro Tuner holes (2 3/16 center to center) 11 hole USA pickguard hole pattern and USA rear plate pattern. Note the one top marking hole.

It is stock Pewter color (not Inca Silver or Charcoal Frost Metallic.) The neck socket is stamped X55226 Aug 13 200x where the x is covered by the end paint overspray. I checked all Fender's online spec's and diagrams and nothing has a HSH route in Pewter with a Syncrho type bridge. Any ideas? I'd like to put the right neck with the body. Desregard the neck plate. Not stock.

Thanks! Tim

OK, so if it's not a Custom Shop, has anybody else ever seen this HSH routing with a vintage style tremolo in a Inca Silver, Pewter or Charcoal Frost Metallic color? Thanks.

Here is a pic of the neck socket:

Vintage trem with those jig holes and HSH routing is a MIM. AVRI guitars dont have the circular jig holes or HSH routing, and are the only American models to use a synchronised trem.

Pay no attention to the colour, it could be a pro respray or a FSR or anything.

It's almost certainly an MIM Strat body based on the specs and the images. It isn't from a Custom Shop guitar for sure. Build up a heck of a "custom" from it.

I know someone who has a similiar body and put a Fernandes Retrocket neck on it. Nice player!
