Pretty new to electric guitar, music in general, always wanted to, now I have a little time. I grabbed a Starcaster box kit at my local music store. Been taking some lessons, I travel weekly on business so it goes with me, got a PocketRockit to keep the other guests happy. I knew the StarCaster was entry level, that was OK but now I'm committed and want to move up. I just checked out a Deluxe Players Strat, I like it a lot, thinking of ordering one pretty soon, any thoughts on this guitar? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I like the Deluxe Players personally. The ash bodies always seem to be nicely-figured -- especially dramatic with the 3TSB and translucent blonde finishes. Some guys don't care for the Vintage Noiseless pickups but every one that I've played had plenty of spank and grunt to my ear. You could do a lot worse IMO
