I recently purchased my first fender from a auction. I am very happy with my purchase and will continue buying fenders. But being new to fenders I purchased a used beauty that I knew and know really nothing about. I am wondering if anyone can tell me a bit about it. I know it a Strat Floyd Rose Squier Series with a cherry neck, foto flame finish, and synch tremolo. The guitar was made in Japan, and the serial N000454. If anyone knows anything or can tell me were to look, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you,
Marty

I'd need to see a picture of it. It's a floyd rose squier series but has a sychronized tremolo? I know there were Squier series guitars with Floyd rose trems. I've never heard of a floyd rose squier series with a synchronised trem though.

Agreed that a pic would help. I have owned a Floyd Rose equipped Squier HM III from the 80's and it had a Licensed Floyd Rose Tremolo.

Call Fender in Scottsdale AZ. The number is 480-596-9690. The guy i spoke with was very helpful when I called about the used Roadhouse I bought. Told me the month it was made and everything. I think they keep records on the Squires made also, I mean you have a serial number on it. What can it hurt to give them a call? 8)

Marvin, its a Fender mate. They made a short run series called the Squier series when they started making guitars at the Ensenada, Mexico plant. After they inherited it from Squier. For the first couple of years all they made there were strings and cabs.

All I know about the Squires is not much, I had one back in the early eighties, It was a Squire Bullet. I had a Strat body and a Tele headstock. I liked it at the time. Oh, I have played a Squire classic series Tele at Guitar center, Nice guitar for $350.00 8)

Does it look like this?

I used to have a MIM Standard Squier Series Floyd years ago- that was a great strat- I miss it to this day. It was identical to the above MIJ squier foto flame but was lesser quality pickups and no foto.. I wish I still had it

I have this model too "Made in Japan - Floyd Rose - N series" (1993/4) - but are these Fender Strats with Squire Parts or just Squire Strats or just a mix in between - very confusing. Its a great guitar though. I use a few other types of MIJ guitars too, I really enjoy using them

They are, arent they! :) I had one identical to the one above, except mine was MIM 'Squire Series' with the old logo and a Floyd Rose II bridge. 1 vol, 1 tone only- the pickups werent as good as the MIJ models. The MIJ's were loosely based off either a 50's or 60's strat styling, they had Foto Flame and better electronics and sported a 'spaghetti' logo.

The Humbucker was a cheap one, with non-adjustable pole pieces. Still though- it had the nicest neck Ive played, and nice acoustically :) .

The picture that was put up on this forum looks just like mine. I took a couple pics, but I cannot figure out how to put them up. Suggestions?
Thank you,
Marty

photobucket.com is fairly good for image uploads. once the upload is complete hold your cursor over the image thumbnail and copy the html code
