Nothing about that sets off any flags for me. Looks like a nice Fender. It would be easier to tell better if the headstock were shown in detail but the instrument, as a whole, looks legit. 8)

Too bad there is not a closeup pic of the headstock. From what I can tell it looks like an American Standard with pickguard swapped out for a pearloid one. And pickups changed to Vintage Noiseless according to he seller. The pickups should have a small script "Noiseless" on the plastic covers.

Check out this Am Std in Sienna: http://www.elderly.com/fmic/items/FNASS-SSB-RSWD.htm It looks pretty much the same, except for the rosewood fretboard of course and pickguard.

Ask if you can get a pic of the headstock.

The serial number will confirm how old it is.

A 2005 would make it an American Series and the price is nice. It looks in shiny mint condition.

make sure you look over the frets to see how worn in they are. I would hate to have to do a fretdressing right off the bat.

i went ahead and bought it..the frets are in great condition...there was a very minor chip on the top right back side ( that i noticed after i bought it :?) ...but it was so small it didnt bother me very much...you can kinda see it in the pic...it played absolutley great, low action, frets were very nice..the serial # is z4153482 so what does that make it? i really dug the pick ups too they sounded beautiful wether crisp or downright dirty...thanks alot for the help guys..right now i feel like i make a good deal :P

( nevermind i figured out by the serial # that its a 2005 american standard)

Just one little note about noiseless pups, if you play the guitar a lot the writing on the pups will eventually come off.

the serial #Z4 could be 2004-05 to know when for sure you would need to take the neck off and look there (inside the neck on the heal)
