Hi Everyone,

a friend is coming from the US and was wondering opinions on buying some parts.

I have about the equivalent of $180 USD

Considering
-Lace Sensor Gold (3 set) it costs the same as buying just 1 pick up here. Or other pick ups.

i mostly play country, celtic, classical also blues and rock

-either the american deluxe bridge or just the saddles as i don't like how when at times i bend and the position of the string moves on the saddle. (i notice current saddles are centre screwed and the others are to the side is this an issue?)

-also considering getting M6 mini Schaller tuners (as no idea on what the ones are on it since fender wouldn't give a non ambiguous answer).

i will also be getting knobs for my finder twin.

Thanks for any help. he will be coming out soonish

Sounds like you know what you want. I'm sorry, what's the question then?

Sounds like some good choices to me. Everything is so subjective, so you need to figure out what you want, and it seems to me you have.

Be careful importing stuff, the tariffs can sometimes push the price up so you may not save much money. oft times the penalties are too huge to risk being less than forthright on the documentation too.

I'm considering putting these in. Schaller tuners (that are about 35 to 40 years old) i have, there in a guitar that is not used, not worth restoring and not played. only 1 of the tuners needs fixing (cover missing) i have emailed Schaller about it also asking about wether they supply tuners for fender (i dought they will tell me but worth a try)

Schaller did supply at least some of fender's tuners. Not sure if they supplied all of them. Now I believe fender gets most from Ping. Schaller/Fender branded tuners were sold , i have some on mine.

As for the bridges, I'll have to defer to one of our more knowledgeable members. fender has a few different bridges, with different string spacings, but I couldn't break the down by model for you.

Hi Stephen: I'm understanding you to say that a friend will be bringing stuff for you in his baggage and with the money you have to spend you have to choose between the items you named - is that it?

Assuming your duty free allowances are similar to mine here in the UK (I expect they are comparable) then any one of those articles will be below the limit if carried in person rather than imported through the mail. So simple economics suggests you should choose the highest value item, because that is how to make the best saving.

Alternatively, I'd go with the Lace Sensors because (assuming it is a sound you like) that will make the biggest difference to your playing experience. Personally, I really like those pups and when I swapped some in even my wife walked into the room and said; "Hey, something changed..."

A better investment than any difference you will notice from new tuners - unless your current ones really are screwed.

Cheers - C

+1 for the Lace Sensors.
