I switched over the strap posts to schalller locking and like a fool I forgot to put the felt washer on the bottom one, so when I took it out and put it back in it was stripped already. Now so I do not get flamed here I can screw a post into wood, not that unhandy. Is it my best option to use a toothpick to fix this? I believe its made of alder, guess I didn't realize how soft that is.
The git is only a week old, this sucks, other than this problem I love it.
Thanks ahead of time,Guy

Use a matchstick or a soft toothpick/ coctail stick.

You dont want to be shoving a hard wood in there. You should be ok though. Not so much force next time eh.

Yep, just a tiny bit of wood glue (and I mean tiny) on the end that goes in the hole first and you should be ok.

Thanks for the replies and its already corrected with the toothpick, I just panicked cause its the most expensive guitar I own. I did not feel the slightest bit of resistance on the first try when I found out it was stripped or I would have stopped. Thanks again, Guy

Tooth pick and a drop of Elmers glue has worked for me for years. I recently bought a new Jim Root Tele and the sound is so impeccably clean that I hear a bit of a squeak when played at low volume. It turned out to be a loose screw in the pickguard. The TP/Elmers saved the day.
