This is a great forum site . Please excuse my excitment but I am waiting for delivery today of an American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar (Montego Black, Rosewood Fingerboard), paid about $1200 for it. This is my first Fender guitar at this price level. I am primarily a bass player and have several P basses and a Jazz. Taking guitar lessons since Dec. 09 and making good progress, I said why not jump off the cliff? I do own (2) Cheap Squire guitars that have gotten me started but I always wanted a Strat. so now I'll have to really practice hard ...and then who knows......Any feedback about this guitar will be appreciated......thanks... By the way these Fender forums are really very friendly and active with respones I agree with the other member that posted .. Nice pics..... 8)

Congrats on your purchase bro. As we all know the best way to find "your" Strat is to play them and it'll tell you which one it is. And to Peter Grant; I agree on the Forum. I've never seen any snobbishness or hate on the site.

I really enjoy my American Deluxe. I managed to pick this one up during a clearance sale last year for WAY less than list...

Thanks to all that have responded, What can I say...Your all Legends!!!!

There are some awesome pics that have been posted of other Deluxe's that are just so Sweeeet..

Today I was jamming on my 08 AM standard and a thought crossed my mind;

"I hope I don't leave my standard behind when "AMBER" turns up?"

I don't think I will but it was a bit weird thinking that whilst bluesing.

I reckon I will do something inspiring like PeterGrant has by creating a shrine type set up which will host both my 08 MIA standard Strat
and My 09 AM Deluxe Strat".

Hmmm it has me thinking now..lol

Thanks Again Guy's...

2009 AM DELUXE STRAT SELECT ALDER AMBER BODY MAPLE NECK. $2200 AUD...

Hi kineman karma: just to help this thing along...

AU$2200 = US$2023 = Canadian$2055 = UK£1322 = €1504.

Sounds quite steep to me. It would be a good 25% cheaper in the UK, for example.

However, a quick Google will help you compare it to the local market price in Australia - and that's the bit that matters to you.

Great guitar, anyhow.

Cheers - C

Its less the $1400 in the U.S. Used, they are under $1,100 U.S.

Well I had my first rehearsal with my lovely Amber today..It was also show and tell...lol..

Just awesome....My bass player who is a guitar god to which he can shred a six string to bits, said that he just loves the sound of the SCN's and the axe overall.

The other guitar player beside me who is no cub scout said that he loves the pups and the whole get up of my lovely new Deluxe.

First thing he said was he loved the Abalone fretboard Inlays...whammo that's why I am glad I didn't buy the 2010 dlx..it is still a lovely guitar but it should have Abalone inlays. Just my opinion...

Well I am happy thanks to Fender and Mr Lawrence who invented such lovely full rounded tone pickups.

Amber will not be laying under my bed or sitting in my closet...I think she will be relic'd and looking like a worn out old prostitute in 10 years.

:D :D :D :D
