I purchased a Stratocaster a long time ago (mid 70's I guess), how do I know exactly how old is my guitar and what its price can be?

Look at the serial number of your Strat and go here to determine the year: http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

As far as value, depends on a lot of things like condition and does it have all the original parts. Post some pics and someone here might help. Or look at completed ebay autions and see what price similar Strats sold for to get a quick idea of current price.

There are date codes on many of the parts/pieces: end of the neck, bottom of the pots, bottom of the pickups, etc. You'll need to get out a screwdriver and start taking a peak of the thing taken apart.
