OK so, now we have

1) Replaced all the wiring, pots, switch... And
2) These guys http://www.fixguitars.com/ did some fret work...

The harness was $45 and the fret work was $45 (don't ask me how I robbed them of that)... for $90...

I am not exactly what kind of fret work they did... But almost ALL of the pitting and wear is gone now with low action and no buzzing...

This guitar is a totally different instrument from when I bought it... Oh my god... It plays like butter and sounds great...

If I get brave enough I may post up a video...

I am amazed how good of a job they do at http://www.fixguitars.com/... And for such an amazingly good price... I highly recommend them for any kind of fret work..

hear it...

$45 for fret work!?!? Nice deal there man.

The Strat looks sweet, I bet it sounds even sweeter!

I guess this means you'll be playing it so much you won;t be needing that Guild anymore huh? I'll be happy to play it since you'll be busy with your Strat, just let me know! 8)

I've said it a million times I think.. And I will say it again... The guild hollowbodies are so much better bang for you buck than the Gibsons... by far..

I agree, my music instructor has one of the original T-100 prototypes and it is the sweetest guitar I have ever seen or heard.

Yeah I like that place. The young guy who works the register always remembers my name, and the old guys are pretty cool.

Only thing I don't like there is they use the website to ring you up when you're buying stuff and they have to find the stuff on the webpage and it always takes them awhile.

Nice job. The funny thing is I have only modded 3 guitars in my life and two of them are my top players.

Looks like a Contemporary Stratocaster with a Schaller System I locking bridge.

They were several variations of this guitar, with different pickup configurations, Schaller tremolo bridges and a TBX tone circuit on certain models. Some were shipped with the traditional recessed jackplate, others came with a side-mount jack.

I've a good documentation for the Japanese Contemporary guitars, here's the URL:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Contemporary_Stratocaster_Japan

Chrome... Thanks for that.. I suppose this one may be a model 27-4300

27-4300: 3 single coil pickups, 5 position selector switch, 1 volume, 2 tones, System I tremolo, rosewood fingerboard, 25.5" scale length, top mounted output jack.

The Fender Contemporary models were the first Fender Japan models to be exported as Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters. The previous Fender Japan models exported from Japan were all Fender Squier models. The Fender Contemporary models were manufactured from 1984 to 1987 by FujiGen Gakki and these Stratocasters were designed to be superstrats with humbucking pickups and Schaller Floyd Rose tremolos. There was a lower priced Fender Contemporary Squier model produced as well. The Fender Contemporary Stratocaster and Telecaster models were part of the Fender Japan E series model range.

When CBS sold Fender to its current owners in 1984 there was a transitional period from 1984 to 1987 with limited Fender USA production resulting in mostly Fender Japan and leftover stock being sold. There are also Fender Contemporary Telecaster models with HSS or HH pickup configurations and switches for selecting pickup options. The Fender Contemporary Telecaster models used the same tremolo systems as the Fender Contemporary Stratocaster models. Former Pixies frontman Frank Black (pictured below) is perhaps the man whose the name has been closely associated with this particular guitar.

There were also USA Contemporary Stratocasters and Telecasters which were totally different than the original Japanese models in terms of features and construction. These shortlived American-made models were made at the Fender Custom Shop by John Suhr (founder and actual owner of JST Technologies Inc.) in the mid-1990s. This exquisite example (shown below) was made circa 1995/96.
