if that is a fake, it is the best fake ive seen. i would still pay 300 for it.
my 09 deluxe v neck came with an fender case.
the bridge 2 point trem, abalone dots, contoured heel, headstock logo, tuners, s1 switch, the wood and finish.
seems like alot of trouble to fake for a meesly 300 dollars.

I called Fender tech support awhile back with some questions about a serial number and the guy said that, while its rare, sometimes the serial number of a legitimate guitar doesn't get entered into their system. Maybe that's what happened here..

Is that a single ply pickguard and rear trem cavity cover?

Interesting! :?

Sure looks like it...shouldn't it be 3-ply?

The rest of the guitar looks right to me though.

My deluxe came with tweed. It is a annoyversary model though. I think the molded case is superior to any of the GG cases Fender supply with guitars.

I'd honestly view that as a bonus.

When I brought mine, I had the choice of either the 60th anniversary with maple and the little zirconium on the headstock, or mine with rosewood- no zirconium. The anniversary came with a special 60th tweed case and mine did not.

I know FMT and QMT and perhaps the Ash (correct???) Deluxes came with those G&C tweed cases. The rest didnt.

Aswell as AVRI too, they are tweed or tolex.

The fact this guitar has a single ply guard, 2 tone burst and maple neck lead me to believe it is a V-Neck Strat Deluxe. $300 is unbelievable, thats awesome!! :D

D=Deluxe
Z= 2000
First number after Z in this case indicates 2009
Maybe it was not registered or he did so online and it did'nt go through due to the website being down or his computer. If done by mail with the registration card, well..the US Postal service, anything can happen.

Well it looks real to me the only thing that seemns slightly off is the spacing on the serial number. Both of my Deluxes did not come with a tweed case only my Beck and Clapton had tweed. I would just keep sending the serial number until you get some info. Otherwise to me you made a great score and congrats.

Niki when I posted that Chinese website way back you said you were tempted to grab one and I guess you did.lol Now to be honest the reason I would never buy a Gibson on line is because I could not tell the difference since I never owned a Gibson in my life. But that sure is a hell of a lot of guitar for $300 and they still have to turn a profit to boot. Simply mind boggling.
